Welcome to this charming holiday home located outside of Motala in Östergötland. The cottage is set in a small residential area and is surrounded by a lovely garden.
The one-storey cottage features a pretty little veranda, through which you enter the cottage. Inside, you will find a charming kitchen with the basic amenities. The spacious living room has a dining table, an open fireplace, and a sofa bed. The living room opens onto a lovely roofed terrace where you can relax and spend time together. The master bedroom features two single beds and the other bedroom has one single bed. Next to the cottage there's an annex with a bunk bed. Please note that the wifi data amount is limited.
It's a short walk of 200 metres to the nearest beach with sand and grassy areas. This is where you will find the rowing boat that is included in the rent. Why not try your hand at fishing? You can buy a fishing permit in Motala. Motala is only 12 kilometres from your holiday home and here you will find shops and restaurants. The bigger town of Linköping is 40 kilometres away. The area has plenty of cycling paths, amongst others, one that follows the channel Göta Canal. You can also take a boatride along the canal.
Another great destination is the old, picturesque town of Vadstena, set right by lake Vättern. Vadstena was once up for becoming the capital of Sweden, before Stockholm was chosen. King Gustav Vasa built a castle here in the middle ages and it still stands today, in excellent shape. There are also several beautiful old churches you can visit, and a convent where the Birgitta-sisters live. This is the town that Saint Bridget is from and it offers plenty of culture and historical sites.
Between Ödeshög and Vadstena you will find the ruins of the monastery Alvastra Kloster, set in beautiful surroundings right by the mountain Omberg. Omberg is well worth a visit for those who love walking in beech forests.
Welcome to a delightful holiday home set in an interesting area!
